Pizza bowls with Caprese Salad

Today I have a wonderful inspiration for you when you have guests around or maybe for your next BBQ!

I found this wonderful inspiration on the blog of Arno – Rosen kocht!  .

I’ve made those delicious Pizza bowls with Caprese Salad on the birthday of my husband as a delicious menu starter!

Pizza bowls with Caprese salad - Delicious and easy to make, perfect as a Starter! Ingredients: flour, dry yeast, salt, water, olive oil, mozzarella, tomatoes, basil - Easy recipe!

Normally I make my pizza dough in a traditional way like in Naples.

This time I’ve chosen to make another pizza dough which is also delicious but without a long resting time.

During the resting time, the Caprese Salad can be prepared.

It is really a very easy recipe and your guests will love those cute pizza bowls with Caprese salad!

Pizza bowls with Caprese Salad

  • Servings: 6
  • Difficulty: easy

Ingredients:

For the dough:

  • 250 gr. flour
  • ½ packet dry yeast
  • ½ Tsp salt
  • Approx. 100 ml of lukewarm water

For the salad:

  • 2 mozzarella, diced
  • 10 cherry tomatoes, diced
  • A pair of basil leaves
  • 1 clove of garlic, in slices (optional)
  • salt
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil

Directions:

First, prepare the dough for the pizza bowls.

Mix the flour, the yeast and salt, then add the water slowly. The dough should not become too sticky. If it is too moist, add some flour. Then let the dough rest for half an hour.

In the meantime dice the mozzarella and place in a salad bowl. Dice the cherry tomatoes and add to the mozzarella. Cut the basil leaves, cut the garlic into slices and add to the other ingredients in the salad bowl. Add salt and olive oil. Stir everything very well and the Caprese salad is ready.

Preheat the oven to 250 ° C.

When the dough has risen, knead a little on a floured surface and roll into a rectangular shape. Cut out Out 6 circles. I took a muesli bowl for this.

Now, turn the muffin bowls, brush them with some olive oil and place the dough circles over them.

Bake in the oven for about 10 – 15 minutes (depending on oven).

Then remove the finished pizza bowls, allow them to cool slightly, remove from the muffin moulds. Drape on a serving plate and fill with Caprese salad.
